Greetings
Tor Lundvall fan,
If you are familiar with the visual art of
Tor Lundvall...
And you see yourself as a pretty deep and enthusiastic appreciator,
The type who could stare into his images for hours... because something in it
really connects with you...
The lush and strange
dreamlike landscapes, the ghostly shadows and haunted feeling...
...then it wouldn't be surprising if you've ever pondered the idea of
acquiring something of his work.
I mean, something that counts, something you can see and touch and view from any angle.
Something larger, and
more real than a little CD booklet or Xmas card.
Perhaps you've imagined what it would be like, to have one of his spectacular paintings hanging on your wall,
full size in real life.
The
real thing as created by the artist, the original. Just imagine if it was yours.
Maybe you've even determined that You Will Own one of his works someday.
If any of this is the case for you, then we may have something for you, the chance of a lifetime.
Available for sale at this time is an original
Tor Lundvall painting, entitled "Soft Light".
This painting hung in Strange Fortune's headquarters in New England from 2005 to 2008.
It is being offered at this time in order to help fund an upcoming move.
One of the first things to understand about this painting is the
size of it.
This is no small object, we're talking about a full impressive 25 x 32 inch canvas.
If you've only ever experienced
Tor Lundvall's art via little screens and booklets, you may do a double take when you see a real painting in proper scale. You haven't seen anything yet. It makes a big difference.
About the work. The way I see it,
Tor Lundvall paintings can often be classified into Seasons, and this one would fit roughly into the Summer Season.
One of the reasons this piece was originally selected is, I wanted something that would add life to the room
all year round.
"Soft Light" brings a light breezy, tranquil feeling into a room... while it glows with the slightly haunted quality that is part of all of Tor Lundvall's work.
This image is mostly a "landscape" although there's a single figure moving across the painting. It seems to be a female, and possibly a spirit, although this isn't clear.
Ultimately I would say the key quality about a piece of Art is the
feeling it can bring out in you. I liked the feeling of this and that's why it was snatched up three years ago.
As a reminder, this is a real canvas, signed by
Tor Lundvall. Tor doesn't do print editions. This is It. Here it is. No one else in the world owns this.
So what do you think should be the asking price of something irreplaceable like this?
The answer is,
Tor Lundvall paintings of this size and caliber sell at galleries for upwards of $5,000.
This painting specifically I have personally seen marked as high as $6,500 in a gallery.
But you're in luck because this isn't a gallery - this is a private offer.
What we are going to do is, consider all bids above the lowest price I'm willing to part with it at this time.
This means, roughly half gallery price.
If you've ever wanted a
Tor Lundvall painting and hoped for a chance to get it below market value, this may what you've been waiting for.
In fact, if you like this painting... this is in all likelihood the
only chance you will ever have to claim it. I mean, maybe the next buyer will sell this in 20 years... but who knows?
You can wait around hoping for such a day. or you can...
